August 2010

Hooray! Ripples Magazine is well and truly in the hands of Australia Post.

Issue 19 is a rolicking adventure - full of Baby Farmers, Rituals, Dripping Minstrels and Something Out of the Ordinary. I'm sure that you'll enjoy it. I certainly did.

Remember that submissions are accepted 365 days of the year, and although the next publishing date is officially January 2011 - if my inbox overflows with awesomeness before that...

And my word, was I right...

An Inbox full of literary delights (and not a few items of junk mail) welcomed me with open arms. I have spent many delightful hours reading the goodies within, and have not yet caught up to date. The latest issue is looking good...

Nope, haven't fallen off the face of the planet although I will admit it certainly has felt that way.

I hope I can be forgiven for my extended absence, I also hope that I can pick up again with renewed enthusiasm and faith in the Australian amateur writing community. Even as I sit here, preparing myself to brave the perils of my Inbox for the first time in many, many months - I know that I will find something wonderful, something brilliant that I will not be able to resist sharing with the rest of the country.

Here goes...

June 2009

Well, the official deadline for the Space competition has finally passed and from what I've seen, we've received some great entries. Admittedly, the submissions are a little thin on the ground but luckily we'll take quality over quantity any day. *grins*

Stay tuned for the winners list!

Space Competition...

Just a quick note to remind you that entries for the Space Competition close in one month, on June 15th. Entries have been rather thin on the ground for our very first competition so your chances are excellent.

Yes, the given theme of 'Space' is a pretty wide ranging one, I'll grant you. Don't just think Kubrick's 'Odyssey' - oh no. There are many kinds of space; like the space between people, or the space around us. Almost any piece of writing or art could be said to be about some kind of space.

So, don't delay - send in your entries now!

Check out the prizes to be won!

May 2009

With the joyous arrival of Issue 16 back in April, we celebrated 4 years of Ripples Magazine. Quite an achievement for a 'garage' operation. But it's also been four years of lackadaisical website updates. Hopefully, a new year and a new site format will change all that.

I would like to remind everyone that entries for the SPACE competition close on June 15th, so act quickly.

And as always, we are accepting regular submissions all year round.

Welcome to the new dawn of Ripples Magazine...
